Organizations and Activities
Our Officers and the Congregation Council
Our congregation council at Rehoboth has general oversight to all of the activities here at our church. They discuss and guide the overall worship life here at Rehoboth and insure that everything is done according to God's Word and to the beliefs and practices of the ELCA. The voting membership of the congregation council consists of our pastor, officers, and not more than eight additional elected members of the congregation (for a maximum total of twelve council members).
The council consists of the following members:

The Missions Committee consists of the following members:
Mutual Ministry Committee
The purpose of the Mutual Ministry Committee is to strengthen the mission of the congregation and the ministry of our staff. We are a sounding board for the staff and the congregation. We are here to talk and listen about the joys and satisfactions as well as the frustrations and disappointments. We are here to listen to new and creative ideas concerning the mission of the congregation and/or the ministry of the staff.
Our method to accomplish this task is through mutual conversation between all Christians. We are here to share and communicate the joys and concerns of our congregation.
Our goal is to build up the body of Christ. We are here not to find fault, but to evaluate and celebrate our successes as well as alter and mend our frustrations.
Feel free to contact any of the current committee members with questions or comments you might have regarding the ministry of Rehoboth.
Worship and Music Committee
The purpose of music in Lutheran worship is to enable the worshiping members of the body of Christ to give praise to their Lord and king and to assist in the proclamation of the Gospel and the celebration of the sacraments.
The Worship and Music committee oversees many aspects of our liturgical worship service including altar guild, ushers, acolytes, greeter, liturgical assistants, singing and bell choirs, weddings, flowers, and even our own Rehoboth's Rejoicing Rascals who typically perform a biblical-based musical each year
It takes many people of Rehoboth to assist in the many aspects of our worship service. Our confirmation students are expected to participate in some form of worship leadership or participation at least 10 times a year. Knowing all of what Jesus has done for us, shouldn't we be lining up at the door ready to serve? Shouldn't we be asking ourselves, "What can I offer you to show my devotion?" The Father seeks the kind of worshiper that says, "What can I do for you? You name it, it's yours. Whatever I can offer you, please let me." Please consider signing up on our Worship Assistant/Leadership Chart located on the bulletin board out in the narthex or contact the coordinator of each section to coordinate a date. If the coordinator asks you to participate, please say YES!
Would you like to join a choir? If so, please contact the choir director.
The Worship and Music Committee consists of the following members:
Property Committee
The Property Committee is responsible for evaluating, scheduling, and performing maintenance on the land, building, and property of the congregation. This committee repairs and enhances the appearance of the property and buildings. This group works both in groups and individually to complete needed tasks. They schedule and promote work days and oversee the quality of all work done.
If you have a property concern, please contact someone on the committee or send an email to: church-office@rehobothlutheran.com
The Property Committee consists of the following members:
Stewardship Committee
Stewardship is not a program, not a fall campaign for the budget, not a one-shot learning experience. Stewardship is "everything I do after I say I believe." Congregations have long equated stewardship with only money. It does begin there, but it must continue on.
We begin with an opportunity for members to make an estimate of their giving, a pledge or faith promise.
We consult the scriptures. Jesus used parables to teach, and more than half of these are about money or possessions.
You will be informed about mission opportunities throughout the year and our congregation's financial status in the bulletin each month.
When people become excited about the mission and ministry of the church, they want to be involved.
What else can we do besides give money? Each week, we profess:
We offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us - ourselves, our time, and our possessions, signs of your gracious love. Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Do you have time to help out with the church? Do you have talents that can be shared with the body of Christ?
If you would like to learn more, consult a member of the stewardship committee.
