Organizations and Activities

Our Officers and the Congregation Council
Our congregation council at Rehoboth has general oversight to all of the activities here at our church. They discuss and guide the overall worship life here at Rehoboth and insure that everything is done according to God's Word and to the beliefs and practices of the ELCA. The council consists of the following members:

Evangelism Committee
Evangelism is bringing God's Word to the unchurched by preaching and teaching and reaching out to those around us.

Fellowship Committee
The Fellowship Committee plans, organizes and implements fellowship activities in the congregation. It manages the scheduling and utilization of the kitchen and ensures that the kitchen is properly supplied. This committee builds a warm, welcoming and spiritually alive atmosphere. Its activities target both small and large groups. This includes planning the coffee hour gatherings and appropriate seasonal fellowship activities.

Mission Committee
The Mission Committee's purpose is to focus how Rehoboth can help others in need outside the church's walls both locally and globally. Two ongoing projects are making quilts and emergency infant care bundles for use by Lutheran World Relief.

Mutual Ministry Committee
The purpose of the Mutual Ministry Committee is to strengthen the mission of the congregation and the ministry of our staff. We are a sounding board for the staff and the congregation. We are here to talk and listen about the joys and satisfactions as well as the frustrations and disappointments. We are here to listen to new and creative ideas concerning the mission of the congregation and/or the ministry of the staff.

Worship and Music Committee
The purpose of music in Lutheran worship is to enable the worshiping members of the body of Christ to give praise to their Lord and king and to assist in the proclamation of the Gospel and the celebration of the sacraments.

The Worship and Music committee oversees many aspects of our liturgical worship service including altar guild, ushers, acolytes, greeters, liturgical assistants, singing and bell choirs, weddings, flowers, and even our own Rehoboth's Rejoicing Rascals who typically perform a biblical-based musical each year

It takes many people of Rehoboth to assist in the many aspects of our worship service. Our confirmation students are expected to participate in some form of worship leadership or participation at least 10 times a year. Knowing all of what Jesus has done for us, shouldn't we be lining up at the door ready to serve? Shouldn't we be asking ourselves, "What can I offer you to show my devotion?" The Father seeks the kind of worshiper that says, "What can I do for you? You name it, it's yours. Whatever I can offer you, please let me." Please consider signing up on our Worship Assistant/Leadership Chart located on the bulletin board out in the narthex or contact the coordinator of each section to coordinate a date. If the coordinator asks you to participate, please say YES!

Would you like to join a choir? If so, please contact the choir director.

Property Committee
The Property Committee is responsible for evaluating, scheduling, and performing maintenance on the land, building, and property of the congregation. This committee repairs and enhances the appearance of the property and buildings. This group works both in groups and individually to complete needed tasks. They schedule and promote work days and oversee the quality of all work done.

If you have a property concern, please contact someone on the committee or send an email to: Rehoboth.lutheran.office@gmail.com

Stewardship Committee
Stewardship is not a program, not a fall campaign for the budget, not a one-shot learning experience. Stewardship is "everything I do after I say I believe." Congregations have long equated stewardship with only money. It does begin there, but it must continue on.

We begin with an opportunity for members to make an estimate of their giving, a pledge or faith promise.

We consult the scriptures. Jesus used parables to teach, and more than half of these are about money or possessions.

You will be informed about mission opportunities throughout the year and our congregation's financial status in the bulletin each month.

When people become excited about the mission and ministry of the church, they want to be involved.

What else can we do besides give money? Each week, we profess:

We offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us - ourselves, our time, and our possessions, signs of your gracious love. Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Do you have time to help out with the church? Do you have talents that can be shared with the body of Christ?

Cemetery Association
Our Cemetery Association oversees the operation of our cemetery. Not only does this group make all the management decisions concerning the cemetery, it primarily handles all the maintenance duties including general upkeep and lawn maintenance.

Bright Beginnings Preschool Board
The Bright Beginnings Preschool Board oversees all of the activities associated with our preschool.

Women of the ELCA
All women of Rehoboth are invited at any time to join this organization which meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11:15 AM in the fellowship hall. The women here at Rehoboth are very busy doing fundraisers for the needy, gathering food for the hungry, gathering needed items for our military, making quilts and layettes for Lutheran World Relief, cooking funeral dinners for family members, making college boxes for our college students, attending Synodical Cluster Events, praying for others,  just to name a few activities. God gives each of us talents. Let us use our gifts to bring honor and glory to His holy name.
