Rehoboth Evangelical Lutheran Church
an ELCA congregation
Camp Lutherlyn

Camp Lutherlyn is a year around ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which provides unique opportunities for Christian living experiences in a camp-like setting.

Lutherlyn encourages spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical growth and renewal for the whole person through encounter with scripture, experiences of the environment, educational programs, the witness of staff, opportunities for creative worship, the nurture of personal relationships, recreational activities and fun.

Their summer camp programs are fantastic. Just ask any of our youth who have attended any of them.

Rehoboth has a new Lutherlyn Ambassador.

Kelly Hammond will represent Rehoboth as Ambassador for Lutherlyn.  Feel free to contact Kelly if you have questions regarding Lutherlyn or need help with registration for any of Lutherlyn's programs.  Also, any youth from our congregation that attends Lutherlyn will receive a $5.00 discount.

Youthfest is the synod-wide youth gathering for Lutheran youth in southwestern Pennsylvania. This 3-day retreat for 9th - 12th graders includes dynamic speakers and musicians, intimate small group experiences, moving worship, dancing, games, Christian fellowship, and hands-on service opportunities. Held annually in God's green Creation at Camp Lutherlyn, Youthfest is an opportunity for high school students to retreat from the pressures of everyday life and experience an intentional Christian community.

What does the story of the Good Samaritan have to do with race relations in high school? What does "love your enemies" mean in the age of terrorism? The answer--- a lot, but how many of us are connecting the dots between real faith and real life on a daily basis? Join us at Youthfest for live music, dynamic speakers, outdoor games, worship, group building, and an exploration of how God's Word is relevant in today's youth culture.

NEW THIS YEAR! Youthfest "Dot Shops" are a brand new forum for delving deep into what it means to be a Lutheran Christian in today's contemporary culture. "Dot Shops" are small group discussions where you get to choose the topics that most connect with you. Shop themes include:

The Color of Prayer . Find out how prayer connects you with God and the world.

Where Do You Stand? Mission critical discussion on personal integrity and values.

How Much Is a Human Worth? Did you know that slavery is still prevalent in 2009? Find out how you can become involved in ending the horror of human trafficing.

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know But Where Afraid to Ask . Come with questions, leave with answers ... and maybe more questions!

Lutheran Extinction? What will the Lutheran church look like in 2019 and what will be your role in it?

Sexuality and New Life in Christ . Frank discussion on sexual ethics and God's vision for human sexuality.

Find Your Place in God's Story . Guided imagery mediations.

What Am I Going to Do With My Life? If you've ever wondered what God has planned for your life, then this discussion of vocation and occupation is for you.

Beyonce, The Beatles, Broadway and the Bible . Walk the crossroads where faith, music, and pop culture intersect.

Where Is God in the Bang? Can a Christian believe in evolution? Can science and religion coexist? Get the answers here.

Praying the Path . Explore the ancient spiritual practice of the prayer labrinth.

Justice Through Environmental Stewardship . Sure, being "green" is trendy right now, but what does the Word of God have say on the hot topic of environmental issues?

Youth Freek-End Retreat

Ten of Rehoboth’s youth in grades 6 – 10 recently enjoyed a free weekend at Lutherlyn.  Sam & Heather Goncz were the chaperones of this fun and lively group. In addition to fun games and group-building activities, the kids (and adults too!) were inspired by Pastor Steve Bond and the messages that he delivered.  Did you know that God wants each and every one of us regardless of who we are?  God wants us in our best times and worst times, when we’re feeling like a loser, a weirdo or even if we have a zit.  God even wants us to act like a spatula!  (Ask one of the kids what that means).  The weekend concluded with worship on Sunday morning led by Pastor Randy Gullickson, Camp Lutherlyn Director.  Thank you to Heike Drees and Scott Shoup for helping to provide transportation.  A fun and inspiring Freekend was had by all who attended.

We invite those who attended to provide feedback to the following questions:

What was your favorite thing you did at Lutherlyn?

What was your most memorable moment?

What did you learn?
