Rehoboth Evangelical Lutheran Church
an ELCA congregation

Camp Lutherlyn is a year around ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which provides unique opportunities for Christian living experiences in a camp-like setting.

Lutherlyn encourages spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical growth and renewal for the whole person through encounter with scripture, experiences of the environment, educational programs, the witness of staff, opportunities for creative worship, the nurture of personal relationships, recreational activities and fun.

Their summer camp programs are fantastic. Just ask any of our youth who have attended any of them.

Rehoboth has a Lutherlyn Ambassador.

Linda Penfield will represent Rehoboth as Ambassador for Lutherlyn on February 2nd-3rd of 2007.  Feel free to contact Linda if you have questions regarding Lutherlyn or need help with registration for any of Lutherlyn's programs.  Also, any youth from our congregation that attends Lutherlyn will receive a $5.00 discount.

Lutherlyn Summer Camp

Yep, it’s time to start thinking about summer camp already!  Deadline to register to receive the early bird discount is May 2.  Visit www.Lutherlyn.com or call the camp office at (724) 865-2161.  If your child will be attending Lutherlyn this year, please sign the sheet in the narthex so the church knows who is attending and can provide financial assistance (amount depends on the number of youth attending).

Camp Lutherlyn Youthfest - April 25-27, 2008

Camp Lutherlyn will have a Youth retreat for grades 9 - 12 in April. Youthfest is the synod-wide youth gathering for Lutheran youth in southwestern Pennsylvania.  This 3-day retreat for 9th - 12th graders includes dynamic speakers and musicians, intimate small group experiences, moving worship, dancing, games, Christian fellowship, and hands-on service opportunities. Youthfest is an opportunity for high school students to retreat from the pressures of everyday life and experience an intentional Christian community. Deadline to register is March 28. Great news - Shawn Smith will be the musician for the entire weekend! That's something your youth won't want to miss! For more information, go to http://www.youthfestswpa.org . See Dennis Whalen if you are interested in going.

Women's Annual Weekend Retreat

2008 Women's Weekend Retreat is already scheduled! Mark your calendars for September 12, 13, and 14, 2008 for a faith-filled weekend. The theme this year will be: Refresh Your Faith - Come to The Waters of baptism. We hope to see many of you there!

2007 Women's Weekend Retreat at Lutherlyn took place on September 14-16th.  Linda Penfield served on the Planning Committee and Heather Goncz and Donna DuPont were responsible for the music.  We had a nice turnout from Rehoboth and a wonderful experience was had by all. See any of the following people to find out what a great time this was: Linda Penfield, Heather Goncz, Donna DuPont, Sally Patton, Lorrie Kuny, Julie Whalen, Marilyn Foringer, Heike Drees, Eileen Ford, Lori Shoup, and Norma Baker.

Youth Freek-End Retreat

Ten of Rehoboth’s youth in grades 6 – 10 recently enjoyed a free weekend at Lutherlyn.  Sam & Heather Goncz were the chaperones of this fun and lively group. In addition to fun games and group-building activities, the kids (and adults too!) were inspired by Pastor Steve Bond and the messages that he delivered.  Did you know that God wants each and every one of us regardless of who we are?  God wants us in our best times and worst times, when we’re feeling like a loser, a weirdo or even if we have a zit.  God even wants us to act like a spatula!  (Ask one of the kids what that means).  The weekend concluded with worship on Sunday morning led by Pastor Randy Gullickson, Camp Lutherlyn Director.  Thank you to Heike Drees and Scott Shoup for helping to provide transportation.  A fun and inspiring Freekend was had by all who attended.

We invite those who attended to provide feedback to the following questions:

What was your favorite thing you did at Lutherlyn?

What was your most memorable moment?

What did you learn?
