Acolyte Introduction

Lorrie Kuny & Sam Goncz Coordinators

Students who are currently in the 4th grade are eligible to begin serving as an acolyte, meaning companion, helper or attendant, during our worship services.  Typically, two students volunteer to light the candles on the altar and adjacent candleabras (floor stands with multiple candles on each).

Each fall, prior to the start of the school year, new acolytes are required to participate in a formal training program taught by Lorrie Kuny which provides instruction as to the responsibilities and expectations of an acolyte.  Students also receive a copy of The Acolyte's Book, a basic guide for the church acolyte.

Our acolyte coordinators are Lorrie Kuny and Sam Goncz.

Acolyte Training

All students who are currently in 4th grade and older and who are interested in serving as an acolyte during our worship service should contact Mrs. Kuny to express your interest. A training session will be scheduled based on everyone’s availability after a Sunday worship service in September. Students will receive a helpful reference book prior to the training session. The training should take about one hour depending on the number of students who will be participating.

Looking forward to adding new students to our Acolyte Team!

New Acolytes

Fall 2007

We would like to welcome Ben, Emily, Justin, and Lexi to our Acolyte team! These eager students recently participated in our Acolyte Training program taught by Mrs. Kuny. They are anxiously awaiting to begin volunteering their time to serve as acolytes during our worship services. Consider offering them a pat on the back or a kind word of encouragement as they continue on their Christian journey to serving God and Rehoboth.

Walk as children of light.
