55+ News

The 55 Plus Group will meet on July 22nd at noon.

Host and hostesses are:  Don & Mary Musgrave, with Bill & Sylvia Vild, Ann Dull, Norma Wanchick, and Eileen Myers serving on the committee.  It will be a covered dish picnic at the church pavilion with each to bring his own place settings.  The program will be Bingo.

This is always a good time, so you are welcome to bring a relative or friend.  They do not have to be members of the church.

The 55 Plus Group will also meet August 26th at noon in the Fellowship Hall.

Host and hostesses are: Frank & Marge Lorek, with Jim & Pauline Hoffman, Delora Smedley, and Lois Gross serving on the committee.  It will be a covered dish luncheon. 

The program will be presented by Jason Altmire on Government Health Care.  Everyone is welcome to bring a friend for this informative meeting.



55+ Club 2010

The 55+ Group is for members and non-members of our church that have reached the age of 55 and have a couple of hours to socialize with people in the same age group. Various programs will be featured each month along with a few extra outings and trips that are being planned. Contact one of the officers for more information.

December 16th    "The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving"
Members will enjoy a Christmas Party at noon. The program will be Snatch Bingo. Everyone is asked to bring a wrapped gift.

November 18th    "Constant and determined effort breaks down all resistance and sweeps all obstacles"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be from Ralph "The Man" Manzi: Songs from the 50's and 60's. Everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank.

October 28th    "The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon and the program will be a Halloween Party! Wear your best costume and win a prize.

September 23rd    "Without faith, nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible."
Members will enjoy an Italian Festival at noon. The program will be given by the Amslers as they discuss their trip to Italy.

August 26th    "Never trouble another for what you can do yourself"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be: Jason Altmire - Government Health Care Program.

July 22nd    "Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it"
Members will enjoy an annual picnic at noon. The program will be Bingo.

June 24th    "Minds are like parachutes - they only function when open"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be Ann Sunderland and Antiques. This is a show and tell so bring your antique for discussion.

May 27th    "Courage is not lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it"
Members will meet at Janice's Harmony Cafe in Ambridge. We will car pool from the church and lunch will be at your expense.

April 22nd    "Your future depends on many things, but mostly on you"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon. The program will be Tom Langhel - MUSIC FOR SENIORS.

March 25th     "To profit from good advice requires more wisdom than to give it"
Members will enjoy a soup and sandwich luncheon and the program will be a one act play by the Beaver Bobcat Players: "I'm Herbert".

February  25th   "Everyone is trying to accomplish something big, not realizing life is made up of little things"
Members will enjoy a catered luncheon. The program will be presented by "Old Economy Village". Everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank.

January 21st    "The future depends on what we do in the present"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon. The program will be Bingo.

Members will have a covered dish luncheon and H'ors Deurves & Punch Christmas Party at noon. The program will be Snatch Bingo. Everyone is to bring a wrapped gift.

November 19th    "Those who deserve love least, need it the most!"
Members will have a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be the Sounds of Lip Sync.

October 23nd    "We never repent for having eaten too little"
Members will have a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be Fred Kelleher and his music. Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank.

September 24th    "It would be nice if we could forget our troubles as easily as we forget our blessings"
Members will have a catered dinner at noon. The program will be presented by Pastor Harper Brady on his trip to Israel.

August 27th    "Do unto others as though you were the other"
Members will have a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be Bingo.

July 23rd    "The one thing worse than a quitter is the person who is afraid to begin"
Members will have a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be South Health Rehab - information and exercise for seniors.

June 25th    "Two marks of a holy person is: giving and forgiving"
Members will have a picnic at the New Hope picnic shelter. There will be regular bingo for 25 cents/card. 

May 28th    "It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow"
Members will have a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be presented by Mary Lou Harjoce - Life Support for Seniors.

April 23rd    "No matter how often we say that money doesn't bring happiness, we're always ready to give it another chance"
Members will have a covered luncheon at noon. The program will be Mr. Rossi and the Piano.

March 26th     "Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow"
There will be an Irish Festival at 12:00 noon. There will be a small charge for dinner (to be announced). The program will be Sally Conley's trip to Ireland.

February 26th    "Opportunity knocks but once, but temptation leans on the doorbell"
Members will have a covered dish luncheon at noon. The program will be entertainment by Mule Factory.

January 22nd    "If you sow kindness, you will reap a crop of friends"
Members will enjoy a covered dish luncheon. The program will be presented by Amy Sirek from Hosanna Industries. Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank.
