![]() Norma Baker Chairperson | The Music and Worship Committee consists of the following members: Norma Baker, Donna DuPont, Sally Patton, Pam Zatchey, Courtney Reimer, Jack Dewar, Dale Alsing, Royce Wilhelm, Don Holt, Ruth Reese, Karen Szatkiewicz, Debbie Vidovich, Heidi Hartge, Heather Goncz, and Lori Shoup. Council liaison is Donna DuPont. This committee meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. The purpose of music in Lutheran worship is to enable the worshiping members of the body of Christ to give praise to their Lord and king and to assist in the proclamation of the Gospel and the celebration of the sacraments. The music and worship committee oversees many aspects of our liturgical worship service including altar guild, ushers, acolytes, greeter, liturgical assistants, singing and bell choirs, weddings, flowers, and even our own Rehoboth's Rejoicing Rascals who typically perform a biblical-based musical each year (although they have taken a year off this year 2009-2010). It takes many people of Rehoboth to assist in the many aspects of our worship service. Our confirmation students are expected to participate in some form of worship leadership or participation at least 10 times a year. Knowing all of what Jesus has done for us, shouldn't we be lining up at the door ready to serve? Shouldn't we be asking ourselves, "What can I offer You to show my devotion?" The Father seeks the kind of worshiper that says, "What can I do for You? You name it, it's Yours. Whatever I can offer You, please let me." Please consider signing up on our Worship Assistant/Leadership Chart located on the bulletin board out in the narthex or contact the coordinator of each section to coordinate a date. If the coordinator asks you to participate, please say YES! Altar Guild Coordinator: Would you like to join a choir? If so, please contact the choir director. |
