COUNCIL MINUTES
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
MEMBERS PRESENT: Donna DuPont, Rob Hicks, Tom Kuny, Carol Nicoletti, Bill Slingluff, Karen Szatkiewicz – Debbie Jasinski, Treas.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Gil Baker, Dee Phillips and Royce Wilhelm
The Rev. Lawrence Camberg, Interim pastor, was not in attendance, however, he gave Tom a verbal confirmation to hold the meeting.
Secretary’s Report –Rob made a motion to accept the Secretary’s Report with the addition of the words, if we can, to the vote regarding the elimination of the stairwell. Seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Debbie Jasinski
- Payment of $44,500 for engineering services is to be taken from the Building Fund.
- The report will be filed for audit.
Pastor’s Report – N/A
Committee Reports
Property – Bill Slingluff
Keys/Locks
- Bill will proceed with the purchase and installation.
Selling of Land – Tom Kuny
- Tom contacted Therese Scheerer and she is to return his call. Tom is looking into the possibility of drilling on the church property.
Tar and Chip – Tom
- Tom will check on the possibility of tar and chipping the lower parking lot.

- Tom is awaiting another bid.
New Business
Fellowship Hall Request
- A request for permission to use the hall for a wedding reception and to also serve wine/alcoholic beverages. Discussion was held. Bill made a motion to grant the use of the hall, but refuse permission for alcoholic beverages. Seconded. Motion carried.
Stewardship for Building Expansion
- Discussion was held regarding the funding of expenses for the building expansion. Carol will contact Jean Peck and Dave Coyle. Carol will create a survey form
- Carol will contact Stewardship Key Leader.
Semi-Annual Congregational Meeting
- Date was set for Sunday, November 30, 2008 following the 10:30 am worship.
- State of the Union will be addressed.
- Budget for 2009 will be presented.
- Constitution changes will be presented. (Constitution changes will be discussed at the Nov. 18 council meeting for presentation at the 11/30 meeting.)
Adjourn – Rob made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded. Motion carried.
