COUNCIL MINUTES

Tuesday November 20. 2007

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Gil Baker, Donna DuPont, Tom Kuny, Carol Nicoletti, Dee Phillips, Bill Slingluff, Karen Szatkiewicz, Royce Wilhem and Pastor Scott – Debbie Jasinski, Treasurer

ABSENT:  Allan Berenbrok, V. Pres.

Opening Devotions – Royce lead devotions from “Bread for the Journey.”  He presented, “Loving the Church – Our Sacred Duty.”  Carol will present the devotions for the December meeting.

Correspondence/Requests – None

Secretary’s Report – Karen made a motion to accept the report with the correction of Roberta Amsler’s name (not Alberta).  Seconded.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report – Debbie reported

-          All bills have been paid in full. 

-          Insurance for 2008 has been paid.

-          No large budget items due.

-          Report will be filed for audit.

-          The proposed budget for 2008 was reviewed.

Pastor’s Report – Pastor gave an oral report as his computer crashed.

-          Pastor did not attend the continuing ed. workshop due to the funeral of Joe Jones.

-          Pastor will be on vacation from December 26 – January 6^th.

-          Pastor will also be out of town from January 14-17^th.

Committee Reports

            Property – Gil Baker

-          Changing tables have been installed in both restrooms.

-          Another light has been installed in the upper parking lot.  No installment fee.

-          The entrance door on the left of the building has been repaired.

Unfinished Business

            Building Expansion Committee – Royce Wilhelm

-          Royce presented a written report of the progress of the committee.  (See attached.)

-          Dee made a motion to proceed with the committee’s unanimous choice of RSSC Architecture, Wexford.  Seconded.  Motion carried.

-          The committee is seeking the approval of the congregation to proceed with RSSC Architecture from Wexford at the cost of $7,500 for preliminary architectural plans.

-          This will be presented at the semi-annual congregational meeting on Sunday, November 25, 2007.

Cemetery Committee

-          Nominations will be accepted at the semi-annual congregational meeting on Sunday, November 25, 2007

Council Openings

-          Bill, Dee and Royce have all agreed to run for a second term on council.

-          Allan Berenbrok’s position is open.

New Business

            Congregational Meeting

-          Sunday, November 25, 2007 following the 10:30 am worship service.  Meeting will be held in the nave of the church.

Next Council Meeting

-          Tuesday, December 18^th at 8:00 p.m.

Adjourn – Bill made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Seconded.  Motion carried.
