Council Minutes
Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Members Present: Gil Baker, Rob Hicks, Debbie Jasinski, Tom Kuny, Carol Nicoletti, Dee Phillips, Bill Slingluff, Karen Szatkiewicz and Royce Wilhelm.
The Rev. Lawrence Camberg, Interim Pastor, was in attendance.
Absent: Donna DuPont
Opening Devotions:
Tom Kuny led the devotions. Carol Nicoletti will lead the devotions for June.
Secretary’s Report:
The minutes from the April 14, 2009 and May 5, 2009 Council Meetings were reviewed. Action: Rob hicks made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
Council members reviewed the April 2009 financial report. Filed for audit.
Pastor’s Report:
Pastor Camberg presented a written report for his April activities.
Committee Reports
Building Committee/Stewardship/Congregational Meeting:
The architect will present the building plans to the congregation on Sunday (May 17, 2009) and answer questions. Action: Recommendation of Council is to approve the drawings and move forward with Stewardship Key Leader Program.
Bright Beginnings – Royce Wilhelm
Betsy Woodling is retiring after 17 years as Director of Bright Beginnings Preschool. The Bright Beginning Board has received 17 applications and will interview 6 of them. Three interviews have taken place with three scheduled for tomorrow. A second round of interviews will be scheduled for two or three of those applicants. Two or three council members will also interview the final candidate.
Recognition for Betsy’s years of service is being planned by the Bright Beginnings Board.

Gil following up on the steel doors and the re-waxing of the floor in the narthex.
Confirmation: Rob Hicks
Rob Hicks recommended for confirmation on May 31, 2009: Darrion Clouse, Megan Szatkiewicz, T.J. Kuny, and Amanda Weidner. Action: Royce Wilhelm made a motion to accept the confirmands. Seconded. Motion carried.
Unfinished Business:
Call Process
Eric and Courtney Reimer will be here for a reception on June 6th. Eric will give the sermon on June 7th with the congregation voting immediately after the service. The church picnic will be held after the vote.
New Business:
Synod Convention
Tom Kuny made a motion to appoint Donna and Larry DuPont Rehoboth’s voting delegates. Seconded. Motion carried.
NOTE: If the congregation approves the call of Eric Reimer on June 7th, he will be ordained Saturday, June 20th, at the Synod Convention.
Adjournment
Bill Slingluff made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded. Motion carried. Meeting ended with the Lord’s Prayer.
