Council Minutes
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
Members Present: Dee Phillips, Donna DuPont, Wes Hill, Tom Kuny, Royce Wilhelm, Karen Szatkiewicz , Debbie Jasinski and Pastor Eric Reimer
Members Absent: Bill Slingluff and Rob Hicks
Opening Devotions:
Pastor Eric opened the meeting with devotions. Rob Hicks will lead devotions in April.
Secretary’s Report:
The following revision was made to the February minutes: Chip DuPont will help the property committee, not be chairman as stated. Royce Wilhelm made a motion to accept the minutes with the change. Seconded and motion carried.
Treasurers Report:
Council members reviewed the February report and it was filed for audit. Debbie stated that the February benevolence is down. The Ash Wednesday offering will go to Habitat for Humanity.
Next Meeting:
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 7:30 pm.
Pastors Report:
Distributed report for February 14, 2010 through March 13, 2010.
Pastor Martin Galbraith of New Hope will be available for emergencies while Pastor Eric is on vacation.
Area churches, Our Saviors, Concord , Rehoboth, Baden Methodist, Our Lady of Peace and New Hope are forming a softball team. Anyone interested in joining should contact Pastor Eric.
Committee Reports
Building Expansion Committee: Royce stated that the bids are to go out the week of March 25th. The architect is to review them. The committee will come to council with recommendations. After the recommendations are presented to council, the church will award the bids. It was suggested to have a committee of three to monitor the construction daily.
Unfinished Business:
New keys and locks will be changed after church expansion is completed.
Purchase of a new copier was tabled.
Small group meetings with the congregation was tabled.
New Business:
Two Boy Scouts from Troop 414 who are working toward their Eagle badge plan to present their projects to council. The possible projects are clearing the path and providing spare benches and staining the shelter and putting benches around the fire pit.
The following will be held the weekend of April 10th. – pictures for directory, baptism and a steel drum concerts/reception.
April 11, 2010 – Meeting with Bishop to discuss changes to the four resolutions.
May 2, 2010 – Congregational meeting
Adjournment:
Donna made a motion to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded and motion carried. The meeting ended with the Lord’s prayer.
