COUNCIL MINUTES
Sunday, July 20, 2008
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gil Baker, Donna DuPont, Rob Hicks, Tom Kuny, Carol Nicoletti, Bill Slingluff and Karen Szatkiewicz
MEMBERS ABSENT: Dee Phillips, Royce Wilhelm and Debbie Jasinski, Treasurer
The Rev. Lawrence Camberg, Interim pastor, was in attendance.
Secretary’s Report – Rob made a motion to accept the Secretary’s Report. Seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Tom Kuny
- Giving is almost exactly the same as this time last year.
- The report will be filed for audit.
Pastor’s Report – Pastor Camberg presented handouts with his expenses and time listed for May and June.
Committee Reports
Property – Gil Baker
- Telephone service was out for a few days due to a bad connection in the secretary’s office.
- Bill commented that we have an old system.
- Check with Verizon regarding upgrade
- Tom will meet with Property for recommendation.
Keys/Locks – Bill Slingluff
- Bill’s contact has not been returning calls, etc., so Bill will check on-line for a new contact.
Bright Beginnings – Carol Nicoletti
- New Board Member – Leslie DuPont
- New Teacher’s Aide – Eileen Ford
- Carol made a motion to accept the new board member and the new teacher’s aide. Seconded. Motion carried.
Call Committee – Rob Hicks, Council Representative
- Profile sheets are about done.
- Council and Call Committee will meet to review the Profile Sheets and complete the remainder of the form.
- Hard copies will be given to council before the meeting for review.
Building – Not Available
New Business
Pastor Camberg’s Three-Month Review – Tom Kuny
- Council unanimously agreed to retain Pastor Camberg for another three months as our Interim Pastor. Pastor Camberg was very pleased to continue as well. Bill made a motion. Seconded. Motion carried.
Interest In Purchasing Property – Donna DuPont
- Therese Scheerer at 724/869-1208 has expressed an interest in purchasing a partial of land behind the church, which butts her property.
- Tom will contact Scott Shoup and Mrs. Scheerer regarding this matter.
Death’s of Reverend Power and Reverend Houser – Carol Nicoletti
- Karen Szatkiewicz will send cards from Rehoboth to the families.
Adjourn – Bill made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded. Motion carried.
Next Meeting – Sunday, August 17, 2008 following morning worship service.
