COUNCIL MINUTES
February 18, 2007
MEMBERS PRESENT: Tom Kuny, Pres.; Gil Baker, Donna DuPont, Carol Nicoletti, Dee Phillips, Karen Szatkiewicz, Royce Wilhem, and Pastor Scott.
EXCUSED ABSENCE: Allan Berenbrok, V. Pres., Bill Slingluff, and Debbie Jasinski, Treasurer
Opening Devotions – Dee led opening devotions, “Push” based on Romans 1:16. highlighting a lesson on obedience, faith and trust in God’s wisdom. Royce is responsible for devotions at the March meeting.
Correspondence and Requests – None
Secretary’s Report
- Not available for the meeting. Discussion was held regarding the minutes being sent via e-mail. Council agreed that Donna will e-mail Tom and he will e-mail council members, Debbie and Leigh, Church Secretary. Three hard copies will be printed.
Treasurer’s Report
- Not available. Debbie sent an e-mail to Pastor, however, he did not receive the attachment.
- Tom will e-mail council when he receives the report.
Pastor’s Report
- No written report. Pastor commented that he wanted to make everyone aware that Rehoboth has a closing policy due to weather. If the Ambridge Area School District cancels school for the day, the church building is closed. He will put this in the newsletter.
- Pastor requested that the Boy Scouts also be informed of the policy.
- Pastor reported that he was establishing a new committee – Mission. Three possibly four members will be on the committee. Lori Shoup, Julie Whalen, Pastor Scott and Donna DuPont. This committee purpose is to help us focus on our mission as a church, beyond our four walls. The committee will meet in the near future as Pastor want it to into the Bylaws as a set up.

Unfinished Business
New Web Site
- Tom reported on the progress of our new web site. Lorrie Kuny and Julie Whalen are doing an awesome job. If anyone wants to “take a peek,” they can log on to – For Ministry.com and follow the prompts.
Publishing Treasurer’s Report
- Carol questioned the report in the January newsletter. She was confused with the numbers. Discussion was held how to arrive at a solution. Carol and Tom will work together to design the report with data information and wording that is not confusing.

Pastor Scott requested that the liaison of the committee contact the members to introduce
themselves as the liaison and they are updating the committee list.

Compassion International
- The Youth Group no longer wants to participate in the support program. Pastor Scott made a motion to discontinue our support at this time. Seconded. Motion carried. Donna will write a letter to Compassion International informing them of our decision.
Wish List Summary
Carol summarized the Wish Lists that were turned in at the congregational meeting. Handouts were passed around with the results. The results were reviewed. The following actions are being taken:
- Dee offered to check on the Internet for changing tables for the restrooms.
- Tom will check on the lighting in the balcony and the thermostat on the stove.
- Video operator for special services – baptisms, etc. Karen will check with Mike.
- After much discussion regarding the results of the Building and Bathrooms, Carol made a motion to move forward with a building project. Seconded. Motion carried.
- Tom will contact Rev. Newpher at the synod office and invite him to attend the next council meeting to give us guidance on a building project.
Council Installation
- Pastor informed council that installation will be held on Sunday, March 11th.
Motion to Adjourn – Royce made a motion to adjourn. Seconded. Motion carried
Next Meeting
- Council will meet after worship service on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 12:30 p.m.
