Council Minutes
Tuesday, February 10, 2009
Members Present: Gil Baker, Donna DuPont, Rob Hicks, Tom Kuny, Carol Nicoletti, Dee Phillips, Karen Szatkiewicz, and Royce Wilhelm.
The Rev. Lawrence Camberg, Interim Pastor, was in attendance.
Excused Absences: Bill Slingluff and Debbie Jasinski
Opening Devotions:
Donna DuPont led the devotions. Tom Kuny will lead the devotions for March.
Secretary’s Report:
Rob Hicks made a motion to accept the January 13, 2009, Secretary’s Report as printed. Seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
Council members reviewed the January 2009 report. Filed for audit.
Tom distributed an itemized list of the January expenditures. He will provide the breakdown monthly so that trends can be easily identified.
Pastor’s Report:
• Pastor Camberg presented a written report for his January activities.
• Ash Wednesday, Feb. 25th, will be held at Rehoboth. Pastor Brady will be preaching. The theme for this Lenten Season is taken from the Sunday’s and Season’s book: Stones and Rocks in the Bible.
• Rehoboth will host: March 11 and 25.
• Concord will host: March 4, 18, and April 1st.
Committee Reports
Building Committee: Royce Wilhelm
• Royce plans on meeting with the architect next week. He anticipates having the drawings by March 15th and then the Building Committee will review. He expects to present the building plans to council at their May meeting.
• Discussed the idea of allowing congregational members who own applicable businesses to bid on building addition work. Action: Royce will investigate the possibility with the architect and report back to council.
Property: Gil Baker
• Royce reported that there was a major water leak in the ladies room two weeks ago. He found a “Leak Diverter” that could be installed on the ceiling to divert the water into the drain or sink. The Leak Diverter cost $83. Action: Donna made a motion to purchase the Leak Diverter. Seconded. Motion carried.
• Gil and Tom will work on developing the communication and distribution of the new keys.
• Discussed locking into Dominion’s gas rate of 72¢. Action: Tom Kuny will call to see if we could get the rate for the church.
• Gil contacted two distributors for steel doors. King’s Glass & Mirror in New Brighton and Lowes. Lowes gave him a price of $2,136.93 (uninstalled). Action: Gil will follow-up with King’s for an estimate and Royce will check with the architect for other suppliers.
• Waxing Floors. Action: Gil will get price.
• Workday: Action: A workday has been scheduled for March 7th @ 9 a.m.

Carol distributed a tally sheet of the time and talent surveys that were completed at the congregational meeting. The appropriate council liaisons will work with the committee chairpersons to reach out to all who expressed interests.
Easter Breakfast
The breakfast casseroles have worked very well for the last two years and will be continued this year.
• Individual Cereal Boxes and milk: Karen Szatkiewicz
• Potato Casseroles (no onions): Dee Phillips and Karen Szatkiewicz
• Egg Casseroles: Rob Hicks, Gil Baker, Dee Phillips, Bill Slingluff, Donna DuPont, Tom Kuny (2) and Carol Nicoletti (2).
• Orange Juice and grapefruit juice: Tom Kuny
• Hot Cross Buns: Karen will order 8 dozen from Kretchmar’s Bakery.
• There are enough butter packets in the refrigerator.
• Tom will check with Lorrie for table service.
Annual Meeting Recap
Recapped the annual meeting. The annual meeting went well; discussed what can be done in the future to continue good rapport between council and the congregation.
Adjournment
Rob Hicks made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded. Motion carried. Meeting ended with the Lord’s Prayer.
