The Lord’s Prayer
Expectation: Name the 2 major divisions of the Bible, in the order outlined below.
1. Old Testament
2. New Testament
Expectation: Name the first 4 books of the New Testament, also known as the Gospels, in the order outlined below.
1. Matthew
2. Mark
3. Luke
4. John
Expectation: Name the first 5 books of the Old Testament, also known as the Books of Law, in the order outlined below.
1. Genesis
2. Exodus
3. Leviticus
4. Numbers
5. Deuteronomy
Expectation: First, recite the Lord’s Prayer. Next, know the meaning of the words “hallowed”, “trespass”, “temptation”, and “amen”. Lastly, name the division (New Testament) of the bible Jesus taught this prayer.
Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation.
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen
Hallowed – Holy.
Trespass – sin.
Temptation – do wrong
Amen – So be it.
