Bright Beginnings Preschool Staff
| Laura Slack is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has worked in the classroom since she was in high school and continued to volunteer throughout her college experience. Laura has been an aunt for twelve years and loves spending time with her niece and two nephews. When she is not with her family she enjoys baking, sewing, quilting and bowling. In the summer she spends time at her family’s cottage at Canadotha Lake in Crawford County. While her home is in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, teaching children is not just a job for Laura but a passion. She looks forward to the new school year. |
Marci Sebastian  Marci Sebastian
| Marci Sebastian attended the Pennsylvania State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Consumer Related Studies. She worked in the business community for several years before turning towards a career with children. Marci worked at Wise Little Owl Pre-school for five years before joining Bright Beginnings Pre-school 1992. Over the years, she has attended numerous Early Childhood workshops sponsored by the BVIU and others sponsored by various organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, reading, scrapbooking and quilting. She lives in Sunset Hills, Economy Boro with her husband Greg. Her son, Jason and daughter, Cara both reside in Clearwater, Florida. Marci's love of working with children has kept her busy and fulfilled in her many years at Bright Beginnings. |
Joann Prellwitz  Joann Prellwitz
| Joann Prellwitz is a resident of Conway and a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. She has a Master of Science in Education from Duquesne University. Joan retired from the Diocese of Pittsburgh after 21 years of service in the field of Religious Education. Following retirement, she pursued a "new career" in the field of early childhood. She is the proud mother of two children. Her son, John lives in Greensburg and teaches at the University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg campus. Her daughter, Amy lives at home and is a client at McGuire Memorial at the St. Joseph Employment Center in Moon Township. Joann has expressed her gratitude to God for His many blessings and for the opportunity to work with children, who enrich our lives beyond measurement. |
Each of our staff annually attends the Early Childhood Education Conference provided by the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit. In addition, all staff have been trained in first-aid and CPR and all are Act 33 and 34 certified as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
